Biography:[]
When Percy couldn't find any Easter eggs, James vainly informed him that the Easter Bunny was merely a marketing tool for Cadbury. He and Thomas then begin arguing over the issue.
James and Gordon once used Henry's special coal, making them go crazy, and used Henry to break the Magic Buffers. When the coal wears off, James asks Gordon if there was something in the coal they had.
When he had his last day of wearing the black coat, he was a runaway engine with the Troublesome Trucks behind him and Thomas tried to save him. But unfortunately he crashed into a field. James also told the story of Timothy to Thomas and Percy on Halloween night.

James is a vain, snobbish engine but is more rational and level-headed and follows common sense more then most of the main engines and can be quite helpful. Though he is also boastful and condescending at times.
